During a two quarter capstone course called New Media Team Project, I worked with a team of 10 other students to redesign the website for the Rochester HIV Vaccine Trials Unit at the University of Rochester Medical Center. One of the core requirements of the site was that it should be easy to update, so I built my own in-line content management system. When a user with editing rights logs into the site, they can simply click on a block of text and it will instantly transform into the appropriate form (a <textarea> for a paragraph, a single-line text box for a header, several inputs for a flash movie, etc.) and the user can edit content directly in-line. Additionally, content types are not hard-coded - it is quite simple to define new content types and create rules for their output.
